Shane D. Deichman

Chief Engineer , Mod&Sim Architectures, Missile Defense Agency

After a two-year stint in industry with a pair of start-up information technology and consulting firms, Shane returned to civil service in September 2008. His prior government work includes seven years as Experiment Operations Director at U.S. Joint Forces Command J9, serving as the Science Advisor to Commander Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) in Hawai'i for two years, and several years as a Project Manager at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center-San Diego.

The photo above is from Exercise INTERNAL LOOK 96, hosted by CENTCOM at Camp Blanding, Florida. We're standing in front of the I MEF Trojan SPIRIT-II, an integrated voice/data communication system developed by the Army (I'm the one wearing a cover). Once in a while, I get the opportunity to visit some of my brethren cousins in the employ of the Executive Branch (as in this photo from the Franklin Dining Room in the Dept. of State Headquarters at Foggy Bottom).
